Sitting in the corner of the greatest store of the world is a little bit of luxury. Creamy, indulgent, chocolatey luxury that is. Pleasure at it’s ultimate. The Make My Magnum experience in London’s Selfridges is a stop not to be missed this summer. It’s everyone’s dream to create their own ice cream, is it not? This year Magnum turns 25, and along with launching a limited edition créme brûlée ice cream, is giving us the chance to be our own ice cream connoisseurs.
You become the creator. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate. Tempting toppings of popping candy, a hit of chilli flakes or maybe a hazelnut crunch, all finished off with a chocolate drizzle. The combination of flavours are endless and the world (the Magnum world to be exact) is yours to take hold.
On my trip to the store, Magnum was kind enough to give me the opportunity to go backstage and get the true ice cream maker experience. I yielded the hat and got dunking. My choice of ice cream was of true decadence. Crispy, edible gold fieullantine with pretty pink rose petals and a dash of lilac cornflower. The first bite was special. Really special. There’s something spectacular about devouring something you’ve fashioned yourself. I felt like a kid in an ice cream store.
