Review | Avon SuperShock Trio

Recently, on a mission to find an eyeliner that tight-lines and doesn’t budge, I ran to the #bbloggers chat on twitter with my query. To my luck, a couple of lovely bloggers came back recommending the Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner. My speedy little fingers dashed to open a new tab and purchase this phenomenon. Luckily for me they had a 3 for £10 offer on the Super Shock range. What better excuse to experiment with three products I’ve never experienced before?

Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner

Simple, basic, no-thrills packaging. Could be a bit fancier. Hard to sharpen into a point as pencil is soft but the coating around is sturdy. Thick, smooth consistency. Smudges if rubbed straight away, dries quickly and doesn’t budge when dry. Reminds me of the Barry M eyeliner. Glides on, doesn’t pull. Very black. A teeny tiny amount did escape onto the waterline. After wiping the first time, a half-an-hour passed and it did return. I get super watery eyes. Although it doesn’t transfer as much as other eyeliners, I’m still on the search for one that is perfect.

Avon SuperShock Eyeshadow Stick

Subtle shimmer in both colours. Reminds of the cream eyeshadows from my Rimmel Haul. Cream Dream colour is pretty swatched and lovely in the inner corner but has a patchy application. Chocolate Melt is better, a stunning, everyday mocha shade. Both colours look very natural and blend beautifully with finger. Packaging is chunky. Don’t know how to would sharpen as it’s thick. I like that it’s double ended. Would be good for travel if it was a little smaller. A little fall out caused by glitter but nothing unfixable. Will be using these if I want a quick, super subtle eye definition.

Avon SuperShock Max Mascara

Packaging again chunky and sturdy. Like the aqua colour. Brush is chunky but bristles are tiny, short and spaced out. Gives even courage, doesn’t clump. Gives an admirable volume and length. Hypoallergenic and waterproof which is a nice touch. Did transfer a tiny bit under my lower lashes. Overall it’s efficient but nothing that I would swap my current choice, Maybelline’s Falsies Waterproof Mascara, for.

Do you have any eyeliner suggestions? What do you think of Avon’s make up range?
