I have a problem. You’ll understand I hope. The thing is, whenever I see that little blue sign in my peripheral vision I feel my knees buckle and my teeny tiny feet wandering cautiously towards the entrance. Yes, I’m talking about the beauty that is Boots. A drugstore in the UK for any American’s out there. This is called Boots No. 1, as there’s sure to be many more in the future. Here’s what I picked on my outing to the London Liverpool Street station store.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent
If you’re a lover of the beauty guru Tanya Burr like me, you’re sure to have heard of the powder. Ever since hearing her proclaim her love for it I’ve been curious about it’s mystical powers. The packaging is simple, clean and the powder has logo embossed within for an extra special touch. It states up to 5 hours of effective mattifying and lasting properties. It truly is budge-proof. I’m loving adding a touch of it under my eye to keep my concealer in place and my dark circles at bay.
Maybelline Fit Concealer
In all honesty, my hands first tried to grab hold of the Collection concealer everyone raves about. Like in most stores the shelf was bare. Needing an urgent restock on concealer, and wanting to take advantage of the 3 for 2 Maybelline offer, this took my eye. It’s a little too dark for me so I mix it with a concealer that is too light. Colour balance and all that. It’s lovely for blemishes as it’s quite silky and non drying. For under the eyes I’d rather use something super light such as a brightener.
Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
Watery eyes runs in my family. If I’m caught out in the wind, you can be sure that I’m crying in about 0.2 seconds. There have been many occasions where I’ve arrived home only to realise there’s the dreaded blob of black smudge below my lower lashes. It was time to buy something that wasn’t going to budge. I’m liking this mascara., although it tends to clump more than the normal range. It’s difficult to remove, although I guess that’s the point. What it does mean is that, when out on a date, I have peace of mind that I’m not smiling like a buffoon whilst looking like a panda.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On And On Bronze
This has become my go to cream eyeshadow. What a fantastic, versatile product! No wonder beauty bloggers love it. You can wear it sheer and subtle or build it up for a more dramatic look. It can be paired with an eyeshadow on top to truly intensify the colour. It really is one colour suits all.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts?
