Cheeky little Outfit of the Day for you. Earlier this week I posted this on Instagram. As a petite woman it’s so hard to find clothes that look smart, are affordable and fit well especially when wanting a more mature look.
New Look’s 911 section for teens has become my new pal. I picked up this black blazer for £15.99! I’m 5 foot and fit into the size 10-11. At first I was shocked, and a little embarrassed, but you have to learn to look past labels in life right?. You can’t let it inhibit you as a petite and once you forget what others think, a whole new world of beautiful clothing is opened up to you. No one will even know (unless you go around in a pink t-shirt covered in bunnies… maybe then?) New Look does brilliantly stylish pieces that look like miniature carbon copies of their adult collection. A blazer for Pete’s sake! What ten year old would ever need one? This one is lovely as it curves in at the waist, right into the back and fits comfortably on the shoulders. The material is light and doesn’t drag you down. The black one is sold out on the website but you can still find this burgundy shade if that’s more your thang.
My next piece of advice is to get yourself a pair of simple black Chelsea boots. Seriously I haven’t taken mine off. So comfortable and not at all over the top. They make everything look super chic, giving you that little extra boost. These were from Faith at Debenhams on sale for £50, down from £75. I’m loving the cute scalloped edges. I paired these with some super skinny jeans from ASOS petite. I got these over a year ago and they are my saviour. A real wardrobe staple. ASOS or Miss Selfridge petite sections are great for jeans if you are around my height. Something like this or this. Still trying to find the perfect retailer for kids size jeans but the hip to leg length ratio is always off. The fuchsia top I got at a thrift store for £3. It has a lovely silky texture and low neckline. I really lucked out with this one. Any cute colourful blouse would go here.
Let me know whether you enjoyed this post. Should I do more OOTDs for us shorties in the future?
